Make a worksheet in four steps
Personalise the sheet
Add the school name, year group, class, teacher, date and optional logo. Leave any field blank if you do not want it printed.
Choose what to make
Choose an 11–99 Club level or a Bronze–Diamond post-99 challenge. Classic 99 Club is the default progression.
Check the setup
Read the short rule summary and edit only if your school uses different timings, progression rules or question families.
Generate and download
Choose portrait or landscape, create one to four equivalent versions, review the questions and download the worksheet, answer key, or both.
Maths Games & Puzzles
The separate Games & Puzzles page builds printable independent activities from reusable game engines. The library is organised into accordion categories so a large puzzle catalogue stays manageable.
Choose games by category. Open a category, tick individual games, use Select compatible to include the games that genuinely fit the chosen year/topics, or use Clear / Clear all games. Categories with selected games are highlighted and show their selected count. Opening or selecting a game does not collapse the category.
Each game keeps its own setup. Press Configure beside a selected game to change its difficulty and specialist options, then press Done to fully collapse the setup. The selected-games tray keeps a compact summary of the saved choices.
Vocabulary & language: Maths Word Search and Maths Crossword share the curated maths vocabulary catalogue. Word Search can show words + definitions or definitions only, with automatic or teacher-selected directions. Multi-word crossword clues show answer lengths such as (5, 5).
Number patterns & structures: Number Pyramid, Magic Squares, Arithmagons, Magic Number Shapes, Number Trails & Snakes, and Number Wheels / Flowers / Diamonds practise arithmetic relationships, inverse reasoning and patterns.
Arithmetic & calculation: Correct-Answer Maze, Number Property Maze, Maths Crossnumber, Number Search, Arithmetic Equation Crossgrid, Target Number Challenge, Broken Calculator, Missing Operations, Kakuro / Cross Sums, Arithmetic Cages and Sumplete / Cross-Out Sums turn calculation into compact puzzles.
Algebra & relationships: Symbol Equations, Function Machines, Balance the Equation and Word Codes / Alphametics introduce unknowns, inverse operations, equality and digit reasoning where the selected year/topic makes them appropriate.
Number logic & grids: Sudoku & Latin Squares, Futoshiki, Nonograms / Number Pictures, Number Path, Number Towers / Skyscrapers, Binary Puzzle / Takuzu, Killer Sudoku / Sum Sudoku, Bridges / Hashi and Maths Mines / Hidden Gems use concise numerical and spatial rules rather than story-based logic. Generated puzzles are validated, and uniqueness is checked where the puzzle type requires one solution.
Worked examples can be added at the front of a pack. Each selected game provides child-facing Goal, Rules, Worked steps, Tip and Watch-out guidance using separate practice data.
Personalise the pack with an editable title, school name, optional class/year label, optional date and school logo. These details are remembered locally on that browser and appear consistently on pupil sheets, worked examples and teacher answers.

How to play every game
This library covers all 32 current one-player games. Search by game name or filter by category, then open a pupil-friendly one-page guide. Every guide uses a fixed worked example, so the explanation never changes underneath a teacher or pupil, and Print this guide produces a clean A4 reference sheet without the surrounding Help page.
32Review the questions before you print
The preview is meant to be editable. If one question is not suitable, use the circular-arrow button beside it to replace just that question. On desktop the button appears when you move over the question; on a touch screen it stays visible.
You can replace the same question more than once. Studio remembers only the final reviewed worksheet for recreation purposes; it does not keep every discarded question in the QR code.
Shuffle questions changes the order without changing the challenge rules. If you later recreate the sheet using its Full recreation code or teacher QR, the final reviewed order is restored.
The level is shown by its achievement badge in the top-right of the sheet. The badge replaces the old repeated text title, so the worksheet stays cleaner while the child can still see immediately which stage they are working on.
The preview uses the same page layout routine as the downloaded PDF. Headers, QR panel, question positions, column spacing and footer therefore use the same A4 coordinates. A browser and a PDF viewer may anti-alias text slightly differently, but the page geometry is the same.
On a phone, Studio keeps the real page proportions instead of squeezing the worksheet into the screen width. The preview is shown at a readable size inside a horizontal scroller; swipe sideways to inspect the rest of a portrait or landscape page. Tap a question to reveal its ↻ replacement control.
Challenges and schemes
Schools use several versions of the 99 Club idea, so Studio provides presets rather than claiming that one progression is nationally official. Classic 99 Club is the standard starting scheme in this app.
Classic 99 Club
The current Classic default is 5 minutes and 3 perfect attempts to advance. The three perfect scores do not need to be consecutive. Schools use different rules, so both the number of attempts and the consecutive/non-consecutive setting remain editable.

Named Bronze–Diamond challenges keep their defining core maths switched on. You can still change how often each type appears, adjust useful ranges and add optional advanced families. If you want a completely different structure, save it as a custom preset.
Alternative 11–99 schemes
The scheme menu also includes Addition-first, Arithmetic-first, Missing-number progression and Tables-first presets. Each scheme keeps its own edits, so experimenting with one does not change your Classic rules.
Changing the rules
Most teachers will rarely need every control. Studio only shows controls that are relevant to the selected challenge.
Question count and time
Change the number of questions, time limit, perfect attempts and whether those attempts must be consecutive. The pupil instruction updates automatically.
Tables and number ranges
For the 11–99 progression, choose the table families and relevant factor/quotient ranges. Bronze–Diamond use all 1–12 basic facts as fixed core content.
Missing numbers
Choose multiplication and/or division and where the blank may appear, for example 7 × □ = 42 or 42 ÷ □ = 7.
Powers and roots
Set the base ranges for squares, square roots and cubes. Square-root questions use exact whole-number roots.
Order of operations
Choose which operations may appear and whether brackets are used.
Scaled facts
Controls questions such as 6 × 70 or 4200 ÷ 60. These settings are separate from the basic 1–12 table facts.
Duplicate handling
Studio can avoid exact repeats and can treat reversed multiplication facts such as 3 × 7 and 7 × 3 as the same fact.
Optional post-99 mental-maths extras
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond keep their defining core content, but teachers can add extra categories when they suit their school. These extras are not offered inside the 11–99 progression. That separation is deliberate: 11–99 stays simple and recognisable, while post-99 can broaden into concise mental maths.
Missing numbers & number
Missing +/− and ×/÷ values, negative numbers, Roman numerals, factors, multiples, factor pairs, common factors/multiples, squares, cubes, powers of 10 and simple algebraic missing values.
Decimals, fractions & percentages
Decimal place value and rounding, decimal ×/÷ 10/100/1000, concise decimal calculations, fractions of quantities, percentages of quantities and fraction↔decimal↔percentage equivalence. Number-comparison families are not included here.
Mental calculation
Scaled multiplication/division, order of operations and short angle facts such as complements to 90°, 180° or 360°.
Ratio & proportion
Compact equivalent-ratio, ratio-sharing and scale-factor calculations. Longer contextual ratio/rate problems are intentionally outside the rapid 99 Club extras.
Measurement & time
Metric unit conversions, time-unit conversions, durations, 12/24-hour time, time words, calendar facts, money/change, temperature intervals and simple stated metric/imperial approximations. No clocks, rulers or other graphical measuring tasks are generated here.
Mean
Short arithmetic-mean calculations from a small list of values. Broader statistics interpretation is intentionally excluded here because it normally depends on tables or graphs.
Options appear only when relevant
For example, decimal extras expose decimal-place and size limits; fractions expose denominator/quantity choices; percentage questions expose percentage and quantity choices; ratio questions expose ratio size limits; Roman numerals expose a maximum value; angle facts expose 90°/180°/360° totals; and mean exposes the largest data value. Measurement/time extras use deliberately small, fixed mental-maths constructions rather than adding a large set of range controls.
The optional-extra list is maintained as a single registry in the app, so a future teacher-feedback change can add or remove a category without redesigning the whole 99 Club interface.
What does “weight” mean?
Weight controls frequency, not difficulty. A type with weight 4 is chosen about twice as often as a type with weight 2. The numbers do not need to add to 100.
In that example, division gets roughly half of the available questions, while addition and fractions each get roughly a quarter. Studio shows the approximate percentage and question count beside each weight.
The exact final counts can vary slightly because the total must be a whole number of questions and the generator also tries to keep the selection balanced.
Fractions, decimals and percentages
Decimals
Decimal families are available as optional additions to mixed/advanced 99 Club rules, including place value, rounding, ×/÷ by 10/100/1000, decimal addition/subtraction, upper-KS2 multiplication/division and fraction/decimal/percentage equivalence. Decimal comparison is intentionally excluded from the rapid mental-maths extras. The standard Classic progression is unchanged unless you explicitly edit its rules.
Fractions of quantities
The denominator buttons choose which denominator families may appear. Selecting denominator 5 can produce 1/5, 2/5, 3/5 or 4/5; it does not mean “1/5 only”.
The fractions-of-quantities generator uses proper fractions, so the numerator is smaller than the denominator. It varies numerator, denominator and quantity automatically. Custom denominators can be entered as a comma-separated list such as 7, 9, 11, 15.

Percentages of quantities
The standard buttons cover 5% steps from 5% to 100%. You can add other whole-number percentages, for example 37%, 42%, in the custom box. The % sign is optional when typing them.

Teacher note on the answer sheet
Step 4 includes an optional teacher note of up to 240 characters. It prints only at the end of the answer sheet, never on the pupil worksheet. Use it for brief future-reference notes such as a class misconception, a reminder to revisit a topic, or the reason a particular variant was used.
Saving, sharing and protecting your work
For everyday use, Studio saves automatically in your browser. You do not need to press Save after every change. Browser saving is convenient, but it is not an online account or cloud backup.
Save as reusable preset
Use this when you have a rule set you want to choose again, such as Year 6 Diamond – Autumn. The preset is saved in this browser.
Export this setup
Downloads one setup file. Use it to send one configuration to a colleague or archive one particular challenge without moving everything else.
Full browser backup
Downloads a safety copy of everything Studio has saved here: custom presets, challenge edits, current sheets, school details and logo.
Restore full backup
Use a Full backup to move all your Studio work to another browser/device or recover after site data has been cleared. Studio keeps a safety snapshot before restoring.

Recreate an exact worksheet
Sheet code
Every worksheet has a short code such as C99-G1-7FK2M9-A. It identifies the challenge, generation version, question seed and worksheet version. For a normal built-in preset, entering the code is the quickest way to regenerate the same questions.
If a code shows that edited/custom rules were used, Studio will not pretend the default rules are equivalent. Use the Full recreation code, teacher QR, or the saved setup so the correct rules travel with the sheet.
Full recreation code
This is a longer copy-and-paste code for one exact worksheet. It carries its rules, teacher note and a compact description of the final reviewed question set/order. It is useful when you want to send an exact sheet digitally without sending a backup file.
Teacher QR
The answer-key PDF can include a QR. Scan it to open Studio and restore that exact reviewed sheet. The QR describes the current final sheet only; if you replaced Question 12 five times, the four discarded versions are not stored. Replaced questions are saved as compact numeric references rather than full question text, which keeps heavily reviewed sheets much easier to encode reliably.
The QR is only placed on teacher/answer copies. Pupil worksheets do not contain it. School name, teacher/class details, the logo and the optional teacher note are deliberately left out of the QR. The note still prints on the answer sheet and is preserved by setup/full-backup files and Full recreation codes.
Common situations
“I use the same laptop every week.”
Do nothing special. Studio remembers your current settings automatically. Save a reusable preset only for rule sets you want to select by name later.
“I want my colleague to use my Year 6 Gold setup.”
Open that setup and choose Export this setup. Send the JSON file to your colleague; they import it without replacing their other saved Studio work.
“I am clearing browser data or changing computer.”
Download a Full browser backup first. On the new/clean browser choose Restore full backup and check your presets before deleting the original copy.
“I restored the wrong backup.”
Use Undo last restore. Studio keeps the browser state that existed immediately before a Full backup was restored.
“I found an old teacher answer sheet.”
Scan its QR. If it has no QR, enter the sheet code for a standard preset or use the Full recreation code if you archived it.
“I changed individual questions before printing.”
Keep the teacher answer PDF or copy the Full recreation code. Both restore the final reviewed worksheet, including replacements and shuffle order.
Privacy
99 Club Studio runs in your browser. School details, logos and questions are processed on the device rather than uploaded to 99 Club Studio. The teacher QR uses the part of the web address after #, which is not sent to the website server.
A downloaded Full backup is an ordinary JSON file and may contain the school/class/teacher text and logo you entered. Store or share it as you would any other school working file.
